Course Overview

The curriculum begins with foundational approaches to epithelial and fibroepithelial breast tumors, extending into mesenchymal and hematolymphoid lesions. It then systematically covers tumors of the ovary, uterus, cervix, vagina, and vulva, with emphasis on diagnostic challenges, updates in classification, and case-based problem solving. Specialized sessions address hematolymphoid and mesenchymal tumors of the FGT, metastases, melanocytic lesions, and genetic syndromes relevant to gynecologic pathology.

By combining structured modules with case-based discussions, this course ensures participants build confidence in reporting both routine and rare cases, while aligning with the latest evidence-based guidelines in breast and gynecologic pathology.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of this course, participants will be able to:

  1. Apply a systematic approach to the diagnosis of epithelial, fibroepithelial, mesenchymal, and hematolymphoid tumors of the breast and female genital tract.

  2. Differentiate between benign, borderline, and malignant lesions of the breast, ovary, uterus, cervix, vagina, and vulva using morphology and ancillary techniques.

  3. Interpret challenging diagnostic scenarios through case-based discussions, including mimics and overlapping pathologies.

  4. Integrate immunohistochemistry and molecular diagnostics into daily practice while appreciating the continuing importance of morphology.

  5. Recognize rare tumor entities, including melanocytic and metastatic lesions, and apply practical reporting strategies.

  6. Understand the role of genetic syndromes in breast and gynecologic pathology and their implications in patient management.

  7. Align diagnostic practice with international guidelines, ensuring evidence-based and clinically relevant pathology reporting
